The strategic appointment marks a major milestone in Rottler's ongoing commitment to customer success, introducing direct benefits for customer machine shops, the company said.

In his new role, Cummins is charged with advancing Rottler’s service department––backed by a corporate investment in advanced training, modern systems and equipment––to deliver the highest level of customer support with rapid response times from highly skilled, expert technicians. Cummins brings hands-on technical and international experience to this new role. Over the past two years, he has traveled the globe servicing Rottler customers and leading international sales initiatives, the company said.

In addition to elevated service standards, Cummins will spearhead Rottler’s customer training programs. Rottler has dedicated specialized equipment at its brand-new training center located at its Kent, Washington headquarters.

Customers are invited to visit the facility for hands-on learning experiences. Steve Fox Replaces Retiring Jim Rickoff at AERA

The Automotive Engine Rebuilders Association (AERA) has announced new appointments, including the news that longtime president/CEO Jim Rickoff has retired from his role. He will remain on board as an advisor and special projects coordinator for a period to be determined.

Rickoff joined the industry in 1984 with Goodson Shop Supplies in the technical service department, before being promoted to a sales manager and later serving on the Board of Directors at AERA, according to the AERA announcement.

"My world really changed in 1999 when I went to work at AERA in Marketing. Now, ending my career as the president/CEO of AERA for the past 16 years––priceless!" said Rickoff in a release.

During his tenure with AERA, Rickoff helped the AERA team create several programs, including the Prosis Pro, an engine specification software program that's still in use today; the online engine machinist training/certification program; the engine professional magazine still in distribution today; the Engine Rebuilders Educational Foundation (EREF), which establishes scholarships and awards grants to those in the industry; and countless technical and skills conferences, workshops, manuals, and more.

Longtime AERA employee Steve Fox––who brings more than 40 years of experience in the engine rebuilding and performance industry, including 30 years with AERA––has been appointed to the role of president/CEO.

"Steve is such a familiar face at AERA; the transition will be seamless," said Rickoff. "I couldn't be prouder of [the AERA] team. The job they have done to get us this far is truly amazing. They will lead us into the next chapter and I have no doubt it will be great!"

In addition, AERA has also appointed Amanda Goyette to vice president/corporate secretary. She will assist Fox in his role as president/CEO. Goyette joined AERA in 2014 as a communication and circulation specialist, later moving into IT and Human Resources, before most recently serving as an administrative assistant for the president and operations manager.

AERA is a network of professional engine builders, rebuilders and installers with headquarters in Cary, Illinois. AERA is represented at the PRI Show, this year December 10-12, downtown Indianapolis, with its AERA Engine Professional Industry Conference (EPIC) event hosted on the Wednesday before the Show doors open.

IMSA, SRO to Collaborate on Balance of Performance Test at Daytona

Submitted by ajh on Thu, 07/02/2026 - 12:08

Officials from IMSA and SRO Motorsports Group will collaborate on Balance of Performance (BoP) testing of all FIA GT3 models at Daytona International Speedway in Florida later this year.

Used in a variety of championships throughout the world, including the IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship Grand Touring Daytona (GTD) and GTD PRO classes, as well as national and international SRO-sanctioned series and the FIA World Endurance Championship, GT3 cars utilize a wide variety of configurations––front engine, mid-engine, or rear engine; turbocharged or normally aspirated; V6, Flat-Six, V8 or V10––necessitating BoP to enable close competition.

Each year, all GT3 cars undergo testing by SRO at Circuit Paul Ricard in France. During the test sessions, the cars are driven by independent, SRO-nominated professional drivers to establish BoP parameters.

The Rolex 24 At Daytona has averaged more than 35 GT3 cars in the five years since IMSA adopted the specification for all GTD and GTD PRO cars in 2022. This December, each GT3 manufacturer will be required to supply a car for dedicated test sessions at Daytona International Speedway, which will be instrumental in establishing the BoP for the season-opening Rolex 24 At Daytona.

"We traditionally see one of the largest gatherings of GT3 race cars in the world each year in the Rolex 24 At Daytona," said IMSA President John Doonan. "The global importance of this event, coupled with new car models and the unique characteristics of the Daytona International Speedway road course layout, were key factors in our decision to add this test to our plans for this December. We're looking forward to collaborating with our partners at SRO to administer this test with an eye toward ensuring competitive balance for the 2027 Rolex 24."

"The opportunity to collaborate with IMSA and its Balance of Performance testing at Daytona will prove mutually beneficial to both parties. Sharing the data and experience of our respective technical departments makes perfect sense and is something we are very pleased to be part of," said SRO Motorsports Group Founder and CEO Stéphane Ratel. "I've no doubt the similar pre-season testing SRO has conducted for more than 15 years will assist IMSA's Rolex 24 preparations, but there are also things we can learn and apply to what is an inherently complex process."

Stanadyne Celebrating 150 Years of Innovation in 2026

Submitted by ajh on Thu, 07/02/2026 - 10:46
Graphic for Stanadyne's 150th anniversary.

This year, Stanadyne is celebrating a legacy of innovation that dates back 150 years to 1876.

From its start as the Hartford Machine Screw Company to its current position as a provider of advanced fuel systems, air management and remanufactured products, Stanadyne continues to reinvent itself through precision manufacturing, technology advancements and a commitment to providing optimum solutions across all industries, the company said.

Founded in Connecticut as a manufacturer of automatic screw machines during America's industrial age, Stanadyne evolved into a global leader in diesel and gasoline fuel systems through decades of groundbreaking innovation, according to the company. Then known as Standard Screw Company and acquired by Moen in 1937, the company helped shape modern fuel injection technology with milestones including the world's first diesel rotary pump in 1952, the DB Model Rotary Pump in 1958, the Pencil Nozzle Injector in 1963, and, after adopting the Stanadyne name in 1970, the world's first electronic rotary pump in 1993. As emissions standards tightened, the company introduced a 200-bar gasoline direct injection pump in 2006, followed by advanced 500-bar systems and high-performance motorsports fuel delivery technologies that have earned recognition from major OEMs.

Since its inception 150 years ago, Stanadyne has produced more than 40 million diesel pumps, more than 200 million diesel injectors and millions of gasoline direct injection pumps. Today, the company's global operations include advanced manufacturing and engineering centers in North Carolina, South Carolina, India and China, supported by expertise in combustion analysis, computational fluid dynamics, durability testing, thermal analysis and high-pressure fuel system development.

Stanadyne continued growing in 2019 with the acquisition of PurePower Technologies, expanding the company's capabilities in remanufactured diesel fuel systems and aftermarket support. Today, PurePower remanufactures hundreds of thousands of diesel components annually and keeps more than 500,000 lbs. of waste out of landfills each year through its reclamation and remanufacturing programs, the company said.

"For 150 years, Stanadyne has stood for innovation, quality, and excellence. This milestone is a testament to the dedication of our team, the strength of our partnerships, and the trusted products we deliver every day," said Rob Mallory, Stanadyne CEO. "Together, we celebrate our history with pride and look forward to continuing to power progress for generations to come."

Stanadyne's current engineering efforts include developing high-pressure fuel systems, support for low- and zero-carbon fuels, hydrogen-capable technologies and solutions aimed at reducing emissions in hard-to-electrify applications. Instead of viewing electrification as the end of internal combustion, Stanadyne sees an opportunity for smarter, cleaner propulsion systems that integrate current infrastructure realities with future environmental goals, the company said.

PRI and Summit Motorsports Park played host to lawmakers from Ohio last weekend, giving a trackside view of the power of the motorsports industry as the legislature considers right-to-race protections.

With the NHRA Summit Racing Equipment Nationals as the backdrop, PRI provided a firsthand look at the economic, community and tourism impact generated by the motorsports industry.

Among those in attendance in Norwalk, Ohio, were State Representatives Kellie Deeter and Gary Click, joint sponsors of Ohio's Right-to-Race legislation (HB 639). The bill recently passed the Ohio House of Representatives with overwhelming bipartisan support, and continues to enjoy strong support as it moves forward.

They were joined by Ohio State Senator Theresa Gavarone, who will be an important ally in the state Senate this fall.

During their visit, lawmakers met with racers, race teams, track leadership, and industry business representatives to better understand the role motorsports plays in supporting jobs, tourism, small businesses, and local communities across Ohio.

Attendees also toured the facility with owner Bill Bader, a SEMA Board Member, to learn the history of Summit Motorsports Park, watch racing action from the starting line and experience firsthand the investment and coordination required to host a major motorsports event.

For more information about PRI's and SEMA's Right-to-Race campaign or to learn how your racetrack or motorsports business can help support similar legislation in your state, or to host lawmakers at your facility, contact PRI Director of Government Affairs for Racing Tierra Hubbard at tierrah@performanceracing.com.
