BILSTEIN is continuing its support of the 2026 American Off-Road Racing Championships with its UTV contingency program, the company announced.

The program will present a total of $48,000 in contingency payouts across the series' desert racing events this season. Two opportunities for racers to participate––the Vegas to Reno event and Laughlin Desert Classic––remain on the 2026 calendar.

The contingency program awards $3,000 to the winner of each of the following UTV classes at every eligible event: UTV Pro Stock, UTV Stock Modified, UTV Stock and UTV Sportsman.

"BILSTEIN has a long history in off-road racing, and we're excited to continue supporting grassroots and professional UTV racers through AORC contingency," said Chelsea Leap, marketing manager at BILSTEIN. "Our Black Hawk UTV shocks were developed and tested in the harshest racing environments, and this program is another way we're investing back into the racers who trust our products."

To qualify for contingency, racers must:

    •    Run BILSTEIN Black Hawk UTV shocks for the entire race

    •    Display two 10-inch BILSTEIN decals (left and right side of vehicle)

    •    Avoid displaying competing suspension brand logos

    •    Compete in a class with a minimum of three entries

    •    Register for contingency through AORC and confirm eligibility

USF Pro 2000 Tatuus APT-28 rendering.

USF Pro Championships has unveiled renderings of the new chassis that will make its competition debut in 2028 for the top level of its driver development ladder, USF Pro 2000. In collaboration with leading racecar manufacturer Tatuus, the APT-28 will begin prototype testing later this year in Italy before moving stateside.

The Tatuus APT-28 replaces the current Tatuus IP-22. The one-piece carbon monocoque APT-28 features the latest FIA-enhanced impact and intrusion resistance with integrated full-length side anti-intrusion panels. The chassis is slightly larger than its predecessor and will feature Continental Tire-shod 15-inch wheels.

It will be powered by a Honda K20 C1 2.0L turbocharged engine developed by Elite Engines Inc., producing 320 to 360 hp, enhanced with a push-to-pass feature, providing competitors with a 45-85 hp increase over the current engine package.

Based on today's exchange rate and excluding tariffs, the complete car is priced at $206,900 USD. Removing the dampers reduces the price to $198,900 USD. Orders for the APT-28 will open on October 1, 2026, with vehicle delivery priority determined by deposit sequence. The first shipment is targeted for delivery on September 1, 2027, and the second on October 15, 2027.

The Tatuus APT-28 is expected to make its debut at the annual USF Pro Fall Combine at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in 2027 with a series oval test to follow.

The Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame (ORMHOF) has announced its Hall of Fame Class of 2026.

The 2026 class of inductees includes: Tom Allen, Dominic Clark, Jessi Combs, Kenny Freeman, Jeff Geiser & Rick Geiser, Ricky Johnson and Jerry McDonald.

The ORMHOF received forty-seven nomination packets for individuals to be considered for the Class of 2026, according to the organization. A committee of off-road industry professionals was convened to evaluate and review the submissions, and the eight nominees who received votes from a minimum of two-thirds of the committee members were submitted to the ORMHOF board of directors for ratification.

Read a short biography of each inductee, provided by the ORMHOF.

Tom Allen – Industry

For more than 40 years, Tom Allen has been a driving force in off-road steering innovation. Inspired by a passion for racing that began in childhood, he founded PSC Motorsports and pioneered Cylinder Assist steering systems, helping establish them as the industry standard for rock crawling, desert racing and recreational off-road vehicles. Through continuous innovation, including the DDS (Dynamic Damping Stabilizer System), Allen's work has improved vehicle performance, control and reliability while influencing steering technology used around the world. His vision, technical expertise, and commitment to advancing the sport have left a lasting mark on the off-road industry and secured his recognition among the 2026 inductees of the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame.

Dominic Clark – Influencer

Born in Reno, Nevada, and raised in Las Vegas, Dominic Clark has spent more than 50 years shaping the sport of off-road racing through media relations, public relations and event operations. Beginning at the Mint 400 in 1982, he became a driving force behind HDRA and SCORE International, where he has served for more than four decades, most recently as SCORE Historian. Clark also created the SCORE World Desert Championship name and the organization's iconic tagline, "World's Foremost Desert Racing Organization." His lifelong dedication to preserving and promoting the sport has earned him a place in the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame Class of 2026.

Jessi Combs – Industry Pioneer

Jessi Combs redefined what's possible in the off-road industry. A champion racer, skilled fabricator, television host and Guinness World Record holder, Combs earned the respect of competitors and fans alike through her relentless work ethic, technical expertise and fearless determination. Combs represents the difference between someone who is successful in an industry and someone who helps define what that industry means during a certain era. From competing in some of the world's toughest off-road races to advancing the sport through media and advocacy, Combs consistently pushed the boundaries of what was possible while inspiring others to do the same.

Kenny Freeman – Industry Pioneer

A Las Vegas native with more than 55 years in off-road racing, Kenny Freeman has carried on a family legacy that began with his first SNORE 250 in 1969. Starting as a racer in 1972, he went on to earn two SNORE overall championships while his family also celebrated multiple championships across the sport. His passion for racing led him into leadership roles with SNORE, serving as president eight times and race director five times, where he helped grow the organization and expand participation. Through decades of racing, promoting, and supporting the off-road community, Freeman's dedication and lifelong commitment to the sport have made a lasting impact on SNORE and desert racing.

Jeff Geiser & Rick Geiser

Rick and Jeff Geiser, founders of Geiser Brothers Design & Development, have spent more than three decades redefining modern off-road racing through innovation, craftsmanship, and a passion for competition. After building their skills alongside industry legends, the brothers founded Geiser Bros in 1995, creating race-winning chassis that have become the benchmark in Trophy Truck competition worldwide. From pioneering advanced four-wheel-drive and twin-engine Trophy Truck designs to providing complete race support for teams and privateers, Rick and Jeff have helped elevate the sport at every level. Their dedication, technical expertise, and commitment to the off-road community have earned them a place in the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame Class of 2026.

Ricky Johnson

"Throughout his storied two- and four-wheel racing career, Ricky Johnson has presented solid proof he was born to race and destined for greatness," said Scott Cox.

With seven AMA Championships, wins and championships across many disciplines including Pro2, Pro4, Frozen Rush, and Stadium Trucks, plus 16 consecutive wins with Gus Vildosola, Johnson has made his mark on off-road racing. A family man dedicated to sharing the sport with many, Johnson parlayed his career behind the wheel to a career in front of the camera. As a television commentator, he has educated and inspired generations of fans, bringing insight, passion and credibility to the broadcast booth. Add to that 20-plus years teaching off-road driving and racing skills to racers and special forces military, RJ has more than earned his spot in the ORMHOF Class of 2026, says the ORMHOF.

Jerry McDonald

Joe MacPherson's name was on the Team, but Jerry McDonald was the force behind it, the quiet assassin executing the greatness. In many ways, Jerry’s remarkable career stands in quiet contrast to a sport defined by noise, excess, and larger-than-life personas.

In terms of racing, Jerry's Team MacPherson Motorsports set the gold standard in professionalism and overall success, says the ORMHOF. It was a true factory effort, one that impacted those directly involved with the team and those wanting to emulate their commitment to excellence. For 16 years, MacPherson Motorsports had a true factory partnership with GM Motorsports. McDonald ran the whole thing––managing, fabricating, team development and engineering.

"While Jerry wasn’t an engineer by education, he was, in fact, something much more difficult to find––a talented fabricator and designer that learned by using his mind and his hands," said the legendary Herb Fishel.

The ORMHOF Class of 2026 will be celebrated at the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame Induction and Awards Gala on Sunday, November 1, at the South Point Hotel Casino & Spa in Las Vegas, Nevada.

2027 Porsche Sprint Challenge North America, Endurance Challenge Calendars Released

Submitted by ajh on Tue, 07/07/2026 - 14:55

The 2027 Porsche Sprint Challenge North America calendar is an expanded 16-race schedule at eight events, joined by Porsche Endurance Challenge at four venues throughout the season.

The Porsche Sprint Challenge championship opens at Sebring International Raceway in February before a springtime west coast swing featuring back-to-back events at Sonoma Raceway and WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. A return to Barber Motorsports Park and an early June visit to Virginia International Raceway are followed by the Sprint Challenge return to Watkins Glen International over the Independence Day weekend. The championship visits Road America before its conclusion at Road Atlanta in September.

For the first time, the championship will be decided using each competitor's best 14 results from the 16-race season. This allows every full-season entrant to drop their two lowest-scoring race results.

Porsche Endurance Challenge North America will join Porsche Sprint Challenge at Sebring, Watkins Glen, Road America and Road Atlanta. All are 100-minute races with the exception of the four-hour race at Road America.

The 2027 events at Laguna Seca and Barber Motorsports Park will deliver an all-Porsche experience, featuring Sprint Challenge alongside other Porsche community activities.

"The 2027 schedule was created with competitors and teams in mind," Volker Holzmeyer, President and CEO of Porsche Motorsport North America, said. "Many of these events line up with other events in the Porsche Motorsport pyramid, a benefit to teams who compete in multiple championships. The new point structure allows Sprint Challenge drivers the flexibility to balance their racing endeavors and still run for a championship."

Porsche Sprint Challenge will continue to offer classes for the Porsche 911 variants, including the new-for-2026 Porsche 911 Cup (type 992.2) and the previous-generation Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (type 992.1). The Clubsport class will feature the 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport.

For the third consecutive season, per-event entry fees remain unchanged in Porsche Sprint Challenge. Full-season drivers will receive preferred entry pricing, one complimentary drum of fuel per event, annual hospitality and crew credentials, and an exclusive driver gift.

The championship continues under USAC sanction and officiating in 2027. Each event offers an optional test day on the opening day of the event.

Crandon International Raceway, Crandon, Wisconsin, has finalized a new three-year agreement with the Ultra4 USA series to make the Crandon Ultra4 Short Course World Championships an official part of the Ultra4 USA calendar through the 2028 season.

Under the extended partnership, Crandon will continue hosting Ultra4 USA teams and drivers from around the country in a variety of categories. Their next appearance will take place later this year during the Polaris Crandon World Championship Off-Road Races.

The 2026 Crandon appearance serves as a bonus points event for Ultra4 USA competitors. The 2027 and 2028 editions will become official rounds of the Ultra4 USA national series, awarding full championship season points and further integrating Crandon into the national Ultra4 championship schedule.

"Crandon has represented the pinnacle of off-road racing since 1970, and we have proudly showcased Ultra4 racers for years," said Crandon International Raceway President Jason Flannery. "Partnering with Ultra4 USA for the next three seasons allows us to build an even bigger stage for off-road racing's most versatile vehicles. In fact, we have already started construction on epic improvements to our Crandonland Ultracross course for this year's Polaris Crandon World Championship weekend."

Upgrades to the Crandon Ultracross course include a new tabletop jump and a new rock and dirt climb section positioned directly in front of the spectator viewing area. The new features were designed in cooperation with Ultra4 USA management to enhance both the competitive challenge for drivers and the fan experience, according to track officials.

"Ultra4 USA is excited to strengthen our relationship with Crandon and bring our competitors to one of the most iconic venues in motorsports," said Ultra4 USA Commissioner John Goodby. "This is the second largest event for Ultra4 USA outside of King of the Hammers. Crandon's legendary racing heritage, the upgraded Crandonland course, live RACER network television coverage and the energy surrounding the Polaris Crandon World Championship creates an unparalleled experience for all our competitors."
