The NMCA WEST event team, along with the new series sponsor, VP Racing Fuels, announces the official schedule for the 2015 season. Catering to the large numbers of racers and fans on the west coast, NMCA WEST is home to some of the fastest and most competitive grassroots drag racing and autocrossing in California.

After three successful events at Auto Club Dragway in 2014, the NMCA WEST event team has decided to continue that trend by holding all four 2015 events at the popular location in Fontana. Competitors who are deemed champions at each race will take a trip to the Aerospace Components Winners Circle to accept their coveted trophy.

For autocross racers and fans, each event will include the Hotchkis Sport Suspension Autocross, presented by Nitto Tire. Held on Saturday and Sunday, these races are open to anyone who are pre-registered with the car and the desire to race around the cones on a course designed by the professionals at Hotchkis. As with all NMCA WEST races, there are trophies and bragging rights at stake.

Intercomp announces the launch of the completely re-designed intercompracing.com. The site has been updated to improve visitors’ experience by providing a completely revamped look and design, user-optimized navigation, and intuitive information architecture.

This new redesign follows close on the heels of the redesign of Intercomp’s parent company website, intercompcompany.com.

“It was important to us to keep intercompracing.com visually in-line with our parent company site while providing a unique experience for our racing customers,” said Scott Elmgren, Intercomp Racing Products Market Specialist. “We know the reason racing enthusiasts visit our site is different than visitors of our parent company site. Because of this, we tailored the content and structure of intercompracing.com to help racers navigate to the information they are looking for more quickly.”

Indianapolis!

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Tue, 12/02/2014 - 03:40
At 9:30 a.m., Thursday, December 11, 2014, the doors will officially open for one of the most amazing events on the annual motorsports calendar. While there won’t be fast cars at speed or the daring of great drivers in action, there will be the genius on display of the industry that supplies this great sport. In 2015, race cars will be faster. They will be better handling. They will have less DNFs. It still won’t be easy to win a race, but the technology will continue to advance and your single best chance to keep up with these coming changes will start at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, December 11, in Indianapolis.

More than the parts, there are the thousands of business transactions that will be discussed, weighed and completed. Racing businesspeople will be sizing up the future, anticipating changes and placing their best bets, based on their years of knowledge, experience and, oftentimes, a gut feel. Eventually, racers are well supplied throughout 2015 with exciting new racing products at fair prices.

What’s on view at every PRI Trade Show is that rare industry that is based as much on passion, as profit. We get to experience it in action, as tens of thousands of racing professionals shop and buy the next generation of speed parts. This event is a 27-year-old tradition that retains every bit as much of its energy on the Show floor as the first event. A lot of industry friends will reconnect. In addition to all the business taking place on the Show floor, the PRI Trade Show is a lot of fun due to the people involved, and the passion they all share for pushing the envelope of speed.

We would like to thank the exhibiting companies for their demanding search for technical excellence and innovation. Also, each exhibiting company arrives in Indianapolis with its own strategies for capturing the attention of buyers, resulting in a spectacular presentation of new racing technology in impressive exhibits throughout the Indiana Convention Center. The technology on display is the driving force of buyer attendance for the PRI Trade Show. If you’re in the business of auto racing, you just can’t stay home. Thank you, exhibitors!

The PRI team stands ready to make your visit to this year’s PRI Trade Show as efficient, affordable and productive as possible. If you have any questions, look for someone with a PRI logo on their apparel. They’ll get you an answer right quick. Throughout the year, the PRI team has worked closely with the SEMA team on various aspects of putting together this event, and we’d like to thank them for all of their help. It’s been great to be able to call upon the considerable skills and experience of the SEMA team.

Other key partners in producing the PRI Trade Show are the VisitIndy and Indiana Convention Center teams. They’ve made it clear to us that the PRI Trade Show is a big deal to the city of Indianapolis, and they’re going to go the distance to ensure another successful event. When you go out on the town and the steaks are hot, the beer is cold, and the service is fast, you should know that the VisitIndy folks have been hard at work to make this happen.

Welcome to Indianapolis! Enjoy everything this great Show has to offer!

Memphis International Raceway (MIR) will break ground on a 3/10-mile dirt track early next year. The new addition to the multi-use facility will make MIR a premier racing destination for fans and racers. The dirt track will run weekly events as well as host special events throughout the season with plans to open during the summer of 2015.

A2H engineers, architects and planners have been named as the firm to help make the dirt track vision a reality. Based out of the Lakeland, Tenn., the local firm has assisted with multiple community, industrial and athletic projects in the Mid-South area. They will assist with the creation, planning and construction of the brand-new race track at MIR. In addition, Ben Shelton has been tabbed as the consultant on the project.

"A2H is looking forward to supporting Memphis International Raceway with these required upgrades, adding a new dirt track and surrounding facilities," stated Jerry James, Associate and VP Business Development at A2H. "A2H employee's history is strong with this race track —having family members competing and attending many races over the years. It is our honor to be part of this exciting new chapter for MIR."

MIR will become the only motorsports venue in the Mid-South to offer fans a widespread variety of racing options. The venue currently has three complete tracks, including a high- performance road course, a historic drag strip and a ¾-mile paved tri-oval. The 2015 schedule already boasts over 150 events on the drag strip, with announcements forthcoming regarding the dirt track schedule.

"Our goal is to become the premier racing destination in the Mid-South," stated Pam Kendrick, VP and GM of Memphis International Raceway. "The state-of-the-art dirt track will be all about the fans and racers. It's going to feature a fan viewing deck, large concession stand, modern restrooms, both paved and grass pit areas and much more. We're excited about this and are working hard to get the track open as soon as possible."

MIR is currently in the planning phase and will send out updates once the classes, rules, schedule, pricing and other information become available regarding the dirt track. Go to  racemir.com/dirttrack or visit the website and click on "Track & Events" to access the dirt track page for additional information and to sign-up for email updates.
