Zytek Announces Partnership With Motul

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Mon, 11/12/2012 - 10:38
Zytek Engineering Limited has signed a three-year agreement with leading high performance and competition lubricants specialist Motul.

The Repton, UK-based race engine and chassis manufacturer has named Motul, which has a long history of association with motorsport, as a technical partner and the supplier of its official lubricants.

Motul will work closely with Zytek on the development of its engines, supplying oil for its engine test facility, as well as workshop consumables and on-track technical support.

In addition to manufacturing its own V8 engines, Zytek is a European distributor and service center for the highly successful Nissan VK45DE LMP2 power unit. Thus, Motul will also provide the recommended oils for these engines from Nismo, Nissan’s motorsport arm.

All the fluids will be provided through Motul’s associate company MotulTech, including manufacturing oils.

Motul already has a strong relationship with Zytek through technical partnerships with two of its major customers, Greaves Motorsport and Jota Sport, both of which race the Zytek-Nissan Z11SN LMP2 sportscar.

In 2011, Greaves won the LMP2 class at the Le Mans 24-hours and finished the season as the Le Mans Series champion.

This year it has been joined by Jota, which took first place in class at the Spa-Francorchamps round of the World Endurance Championship.

Both teams will be the beneficiaries of the extended working relationship between Zytek, Nismo and Motul.

The new IHRA World Headquarters will still be located in Norwalk, Ohio, but the move will allow for the IHRA to expand to its own racing complex that includes an office building and a huge shop to house the IHRA fleet all together on the same campus.

As of December, the new address for the IHRA will be 300 Cleveland Road, Norwalk, Ohio 44857. All phone numbers and email addresses will remain the same.

The American Speed Association–ASA Racing has announced that they will not be renewing their licensing agreement with the Midwest Tour Super Late Model Series and the Midwest Truck Tour for the 2013 season.

The decision comes after a six-year relationship with the series that started in 2007. Working together, the Midwest Tour has become one of the popular super late model series in the United States.

“ASA Racing has decided not to renew our licensing agreement with the Midwest Tour in 2013,” Dennis Huth, ASA President said. “We wish Tim Olson and Steve Einhaus all the best with their future endeavors.”

Huth purchased the ASA name and licenses in 2005. Since that time, ASA Racing has sanctioned tracks and series all over the United States and Canada.

When the Midwest Tour started in 2007, they became sanctioned with ASA Racing, creating a series that quickly became recognized by fans and competitors who were familiar with the rich history of ASA in short track racing.

Champions under the ASA banner in both the Midwest Tour and Midwest Truck Tour included: Nathan Haseleu, Dan Fredrickson, Steve Carlson, Andrew Morrissey, Jonathan Eilen, Jerry Wood and James Swan.

The Sports Car Club of America announced this week the first and earliest piece of the 2013 U.S. Majors Tour, which will begin in the Eastern Conference with the Central Florida Region’s double race weekend at Sebring International Raceway, January 4-6.

The Sebring event will also be the opener on the BFGoodrich Tires SCCA Super Tour schedule.

The doubleheader will be the first of a planned six-event schedule for the Eastern Conference. Each of the four conferences will include up to six event weekends.

“The Sebring weekend is just the first event of the Majors schedule that will make up the 2013 season,” Butch Kummer, Director of Club Racing, said. “Our staff is working diligently with the Regions with the goal of a complete schedule launch during the PRI Show in December. Because this is the first event on the schedule and a destination trip for so many racers, we wanted to announce this as soon as we could to give the maximum time for racers to make plans to attend the event.”

The BFGoodrich Tires Super Tour schedule will also be announced with the completed Majors schedule. The races will overlap, linking at least one event from each conference into the nationwide tour for the third-consecutive season.

The Sebring races will count toward the Eastern Conference point Championship for all 28 SCCA National Championship Runoffs-eligible classes, as well as the National and Divisional points titles, as announced previously.

The final “Sprint Car 101” Third Thursday Series program of 2012 will take place on Thursday, November 15, with “An Evening with Robert Lawton.”

The free and open-to-the-public program begins at 7 p.m., and will be held on the second floor of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum in Knoxville, Iowa.

Since the early 1980’s, Robert Lawton has promoted the Boone Speedway in Iowa, which is home to the ultra-successful International Motor Contest Association (IMCA) Super Nationals each September.

According to museum curator Tom Schmeh, “Today’s fans may not even realize that ‘Lawty’ was the 1992 Racing Promotion Monthly (RPM) Auto Racing Promoter of the Year, and he was a founding board member of our non-profit National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum Foundation in 1988.

“Starting in 1978 and coinciding with his time as an official with the National Speedways Contest Association (NSCA), Bob Lawton was one of sprint car racing’s major players as a regular and loyal promoter of the late Ted Johnson’s World of Outlaws (WoO) sprint car series events.  It will be fun to learn about Bob Lawton’s life around the stars and cars of dirt late model, sprint car and modified stock car racing.”

Diamond Eye Performance Systems, Components Now Available At Summit Racing

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Thu, 11/08/2012 - 11:24
Summit Racing Equipment is now offering the latest Diamond Eye Performance exhaust products for late model diesel-powered trucks.

Diamond Eye’s claim to fame is the extensive line of exhaust products for late model diesel trucks. All of the R&D and manufacturing is done in-house, guaranteeing performance, quality, and fit that's second to none.

Diamond Eye’s diesel turbo-back exhaust systems use CNC mandrel-bent tubing to create a free-flowing exhaust path. That helps free up more horsepower, improve fuel mileage, and lower exhaust gas temperatures (EGTs). That last benefit is important if a truck has been updated with bigger turbos or turned up the wick with increased fuel delivery.

Diamond Eye makes these systems in 16 gauge aluminized steel or long-lasting 409 stainless steel. They are available as OE replacement kits with 3 1/2 inch diameter tubing or performance systems with 4 inch or 5 inch diameter pipes. They come complete with mufflers, hangers, clamps, and hardware.

SYSTEM APPLICATIONS: 1994-2010 Chevy/GMC, 1994-2010 Ford, and 1989-2011 Dodge/Ram diesel trucks and SUVs.

Summit Racing also offers the following Diamond Eye Performance products:

•    Turbo downpipes
•    Off-road and race intermediate pipes
•    Muffler delete pipes
•    Mufflers and resonators
•    Exhaust tips
•    Tubing, clamps, adapters, and gaskets
