Maryland International Raceway (MDIR) in Mechanicsville, Maryland, recently announced that Christopher Higgins has taken over as the facility's director of marketing and public relations.

Higgins has worked at MDIR for four years as an announcer and in event operations. He takes over for Rick Lindner, who recently left to become assistant general manager of Virginia Motorsports Park.

“Four years ago, if you told me that I would be in this position, I never would have believed you,” Higgins said. “This is one of the best tracks in the country and I am getting to learn from a top-of-the-line staff led by [General Manager of MDIR and COO of IRG Sports and Entertainment] Royce Miller. I am looking forward to the new challenges that this opportunity will bring while continuing to grow in my new role.”
