International Drag Racing HoF Names Class Of 2019

The Don Garlits Museum of Drag Racing, home of the International Drag Racing Hall of Fame, has announced the Class of 2019 honorees. The select group includes a trio of top regional Top Fuel teams, which contributed to the growth of the class in their time, a multi-talented racer, track operator and race team executive, as well as a manufacturer with a “must use” product, which found a home in a variety of racing applications. Additionally, the recipients of the Founder’s Award and the Patricia Garlits Memorial Award were also named.
The Class of 2019 honorees include The Carroll Brothers (William “Bones" and Curt Carroll), Rupp & Dakin (Gary Rupp and Pat Dakin), The Iron Horse Team (Dan Richins and Rex Pearmain), Mike Lewis, and Ted Dzus, Jr.
The 2019 Founders Award was given to Edward (Ed) Justice, Sr., while the Patricia Garlits Memorial Award was named to Lynn Prudhomme. The Patricia Garlits Memorial Award, given annually, honors a woman involved with drag racing who has exhibited a selfless devotion to the growth and betterment of the sport.
The official induction dinner and ceremony will take place in Gainesville, Florida, on Thursday, March 14, 2019, at the Wyndham Garden Gainesville Hotel. The Cocktail Hour begins at 6 p.m. EST, with dinner served at 7 p.m. Tickets are $100 for individual seats, with corporate sponsor tables priced at $1000.
