The FIA has confirmed the team entry list for Season 4 of the FIA Formula E Championship. Ten teams will compete over the 14 rounds of the 2017/18 campaign, which begins with a doubleheader of races on 2-3 December in Hong Kong.

The team names are listed below.

Updated Sporting Regulations, which were approved by the World Motor Sport Council on June 19, were also published. These include 1) any driver who is not classified in the top ten positions at the end of the race will not be eligible for the point awarded for fastest lap, 2) Elimination of a non-qualifying session when two races take place during the same event, 3) Increase in the number of promotional days from three to six days per team with a maximum of three days on circuit, to promote roadshows, 4) Addition of a practice session day during the season and a practice session day reserved for rookies, 5) Increase of power during the race from 170 kW to 180 kW.

In related news, the FIA is aiming to implement the Halo on the season five Formula E car to race from 2018, coinciding with powertrain changes.

Season 4 of Formula E gets underway in December and will be the last year of the current chassis. From the 2018-19 season, a new chassis will be introduced that includes a powertrain that no longer requires a mid-race car change.

After confirmation that the 2018 Formula 2 car will include a Halo—matching the introduction date for Formula 1—FIA safety director Laurent Mekies revealed the next categories that will use the cockpit protection device.

"The implementation plan - again being conscious that it is going to be a very large challenge – is F1 in 2018, F2 in 2018," Mekies told RACER. "We are trying to get Formula E season five, which means June 2018 and is as hard in terms of pressure of timing. Then we plan to have hopefully a new F3 in 2019 and a new F4 in 2020. That's where we are right now, so it will keep us busy for a bit!"
