Behind the Scenes: PRI Show Team Creates 2026 Floorplan
The world's largest gathering of motorsports professionals may still be six months away, but the 2026 PRI Show floor is already taking shape as staff members recently gathered to strategically place exhibitors and build the blueprint for this year's event, December 10-12, at the Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium.
It's fitting that the annual booth plotting takes place during Indianapolis' famed Month of May, when some of the racing industry's biggest events capture the attention of fans and competitors around the world.
Just as teams spend months preparing for race day, PRI staff, sales representatives and exhibitors are already laying the groundwork for December, when downtown Indianapolis will once again host the racing industry's largest trade-only event. When the PRI Show opens its doors, tens of thousands of racing industry professionals will fill the aisles in search of new products, technologies and business opportunities. Booth plotting is where that experience begins.
This year's booth plotting also marked a significant milestone for PRI, serving as the first under Managing Director Doug Bresnahan.
"It's the first moment where the scale and momentum of the upcoming PRI Show really start to become tangible," said Bresnahan. "What's most impressive is seeing the combination of preparation, collaboration and industry knowledge come together in real time. Booth plotting is a massive undertaking with countless moving parts, and watching the team work alongside exhibitors to build the show floor demonstrates how committed everyone is to creating the best possible experience."
Over the course of several days, PRI's sales and show operations teams worked through exhibitor requests, floorplan adjustments and strategic placements designed to maximize the attendee experience.
PRI Show Director Karin Davidson said that focus extends beyond booth placement and into the educational and networking opportunities available throughout Show week.
"With every booth placement, we think of the attendee experience. We know the biggest draw to our show is our exhibitors and the innovations they bring, but we also aim to give attendees an experience they will remember and talk about until next year," Davidson said. "That's why we just announced a brand new one-day program, the Motorsports Engineering Symposium, aimed at race engineers, teams, manufacturers and emerging engineering talent.
"Of course, our T.O.P.S. HQ for track operators, promoters and sanctioning bodies will return with a full schedule of events, round tables, panels and discussions focused on track and sanctioned operations." Davidson added that additional Show features and programs will be announced in the coming months.
The optimism surrounding the PRI Show reflects a broader confidence across the motorsports industry.
"Strong exhibitor demand is a very positive indicator for the health of the industry. It reflects confidence from manufacturers, suppliers, race teams, service providers and brands that motorsports continues to grow and evolve. Companies are investing in new products, expanding partnerships and prioritizing face-to-face business development. It also shows that the industry values opportunities to connect in person, which remains incredibly important in a relationship-driven business like motorsports," Bresnahan said.
The PRI Show continues to occupy a unique position within the racing and performance marketplace, bringing together decision-makers from every segment of the industry under one roof.
"The concentration of industry leaders, decision-makers, racers, builders, manufacturers and innovators creates an environment that's difficult to replicate anywhere else," Bresnahan said.
With booth plotting now complete and the 2026 floorplan expected to go live soon, much of the Show floor has already been allocated. However, a limited number of exhibit opportunities remain available for companies looking to showcase their products and services before the motorsports industry's most influential audience.
"If a company is considering exhibiting at the PRI Show, my advice is simple: don't wait," Davidson said. "The PRI Show puts you face-to-face with the people who buy, specify, recommend and use racing products every day. There's no substitute for the relationships, business opportunities and industry exposure that happen during Show week."
Companies interested in exhibiting at the 2026 PRI Show are encouraged to contact the PRI sales team soon, as remaining space is limited.
