Longtime late model racer and furniture business owner Randy Kinder has taken over ownership of Beckley Motor Speedway, the 3/8-mile in Mount Hope, West Virginia.

Plans include a new tech shed where four cars can be inspected at the same time, plus new LED lighting and a new catch fence. Upgrades are also planned for bathrooms, pit lanes, and concession stands, according to Kinder.

The track, formerly known as Beckley Motorsports Park, will open its 2022 season on Saturday, May 14. The schedule will include visits from the American All-Star Series, plus a Memorial Day late model event with a $7,500 purse. The Fourth of July USA 100 event will feature the All Star Racing Series and pay $20,000 to the winner.
