NASCAR has decided to postpone the scheduled events on May 8-9, at Martinsville Speedway in Virginia. The organization intends to run all 36 races, with a potential return to racing without fans in attendance in May.

The health and safety of its competitors, employees, fans, and the communities in which they run continues to be the organization's top priority, according to a written release.

The debut of the Next Gen car has also been delayed until 2022.
