The National Auto Sport Association (NASA) has announced a new series leader for the New Western Endurance Racing Challenge (WERC) Series. Peter Hopelain replaces longtime series leader Neil Daly, who will remain involved with the series as the WERC team adviser.

Hopelain, a real estate agent based in San Carlos, California, owns the Technik Racing team and is an endurance racer, having competed in the WERC series for years. He also has two third-place finishes and one class win in the 25 Hours of Thunderhill event.

“Neil Daly was instrumental in helping the WERC series grow and prosper, and we’re grateful for the time he devoted to the program’s success,” NASA National Chairman Ryan Flaherty said to NASA Speed News. “Now that he’s decided to move on, we’re looking forward to what Peter Hopelain can deliver for the series.”
