Allen Thomas has been elected president of the National Electric Drag Racing Association (NEDRA), while Lowell Simmons was elected vice president, the organization announced. Votes were cast by either lifetime members or current members of the Texas-based group.

The new office-holders will serve two-year terms, which began on January 1.

Additional executive board positions will be filled by appointment of the president, according to NEDRA. These are also two-year positions and begin at the same time the president and vice president take office. They include directors and liaisons, and are approved by the executive board following appointment by the president.

NEDRA is a coalition of drag racing fans, electric drag racing vehicle owners and drivers, individuals interested in promoting the sport of EV drag racing, EV parts suppliers, EV manufacturers, and other environmentally concerned companies and individuals.
