NASCAR Cup Series officials have announced updates to the short track and road course rules package for 2024.

The changes, including a simplified rear diffuser with fewer vertical strakes, will go into effect at the first short-track race of the season at Phoenix Raceway in March.

The aerodynamic changes aim to promote more competitive racing on those track types, the organization said.
