Melling Engine Parts, a Jackson, Michigan-based manufacturer of oil pumps and other powertrain components, has acquired QualCast, a supplier of valvetrain automotive parts based in Nashville, Tennessee.

Qualcast offers valvetrain solutions for heavy-duty, industrial, light and medium-duty, marine and performance applications.

“QualCast will strengthen Melling’s valvetrain business and allow us to expand into market segments we do not have a strong foothold on,” said Mark Melling, CEO. “We are thrilled and excited about the opportunities to expand with QualCast and increase our valvetrain range.”

Melling and QualCast will continue operating independently, the company said.
