The Verizon IndyCar Series has hired Kyle Novak as its new race director.

This news comes after the series announced former race director Brian Barnhart had left for a position as president of the Harding Racing IndyCar team in late November 2017.

With a heavy background in IMSA, Novak previously served as the race director for a number of its series including the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge, Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA, and Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada series.
