Dakar Rally Relocates From Saudi Arabia for 2027
The Dakar Rally will temporarily relocate out of Saudi Arabia for 2027, organizers announced, citing ongoing conflict in the region.
The Amaury Sport Organization (ASO) and Saudi Motorsport Company (SMC) made the decision in close coordination with the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation (SAMF) with support from FIA.
Originally scheduled for January 1-15, 2027, the rescheduled event will still take place in an alternate location and will be organized by the ASO. The new location will be announced at a later date.
The 2028 event will still take place in Saudi Arabia, which has hosted the rally since 2020.
