Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Releases 2014 Schedule

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series is excited to announce the 2014 schedule. The premier national touring dirt late model series has 47 confirmed dates in 19 different states on the schedule for 2014. Series officials have worked hard to complete the schedule and release it to the public, so that racers, promoters, and all the great fans of the series can start making plans to attend LOLMDS races in 2014.
 
The stars and cars of the LOLMDS will visit five new venues on the schedule. They include visits to: Ark-La-Tex Speedway in Vivian, Louisiana, on April 5; Outlaw Motor Speedway in Muskogee, Oklahoma, on April 6; Macon Speedway in Macon, Illinois, on May 1; Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee, on June 21 and  201 Speedway in Sitka, Kentucky, on July 5. The series returns to Golden Isles Speedway in Brunswick, Georgia, for the return of the "Super Bowl of Racing" to kick off the 2014 season. This marks the first return of the series to GIS since 2008.
 
The 2014 edition of the "Super Bowl of Racing," sanctioned by the LOLMDS, will consist of three full nights of racing at GIS. Thursday night, February 6, the series will run a $5,000 to win and $500 to start non-points feature event. Then on Friday night, February 7, the LOLMDS will run a $10,000 to win and $800 to start feature event, followed by a second $10,000 to win, $800 to start feature event on Saturday, February 8. Both Friday night and Saturday night's events will be the first championship points events of the 2014 season. As an added bonus, the Friday and Saturday night's events at GIS will be taped for TV to air on several TV Networks in 2014 by Lucas Oil Studios.
 
After three action packed nights at the "Super Bowl of Racing" are complete in South Georgia, the series will then head even further south to the famed "Clay by the Bay" for the running of the 38th Annual East Bay Winternationals at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, Florida. The series will have the annual practice session on Sunday night, February 9 before the racing action begins on Monday night, February 10, with six straight nights of racing, concluding on Saturday night, February 15. 2014 will mark the 10th straight year the series has sanctioned the Winternationals at East Bay Raceway Park. Friday night and Saturday night's events will be taped for TV, with Friday night's event to be aired "LIVE" on MAVTV.
 
The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series is ecstatic to work with all of our great promoters heading into 2014. The series will have nine events paying more than $10,000 to win, including the return of its marquee events on the schedule again in 2014. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will again sanction some of the sport's biggest events, such as the Show-Me 100, Clash at the Mag, Silver Dollar Nationals, North/South 100, Topless 100, Hillbilly Hundred, Jackson 100, Knoxville Late Model Nationals and the season finale—Dirt Track World Championship.
