Keynote Speaker Named for RPM@Daytona and RPM@Reno
Matt Curl, owner and promoter of Fairbury Speedway in Livingston County, Illinois, has been named a keynote speaker for the upcoming Racing Promotion Monthly (RPM) Workshops in Reno and Daytona, where he will share his experience as a track owner, promoter, race director and series director.
Curl has worked across multiple areas of short-track racing, including serving as a World of Outlaws Late Model Series official, race director and series director. He returned to Fairbury in 2019 and became majority owner of the 1/4-mile dirt track, while also taking on roles with the Wild West Shootout, MARS Late Model and Modified Championship Series and major events at Eldora Speedway in Ohio.
PRI Ambassador Tom Deery recently spoke with RPM about Curl's selection and pointed to the Prairie Dirt Classic as an example of the type of in-person event experience that can distinguish a short track.
"I'm sure it looked great on the stream, but man, you had to be there," Deery said. "There was so much going on. It is an incredible event."
The 2026-27 RPM Workshop schedule includes RPM @ Reno Western Workshops, set for December 1-3, 2026, at the Silver Legacy Resort in Reno, Nevada, followed by RPM @ Daytona, tentatively scheduled for February 14-16, 2027, at The Shores Resort in Daytona Beach Shores, Florida.
