Thunderhill Raceway Park, Willows, California, recently detailed the extensive rebuild and repave at the facility, which included nearly a foot of excavation in some spots to produce a new racing surface with an expected lifespan of 20 to 25 years.

Following geotechnical testing, track officials, including CEO Matt Busby, discovered a problem with the ground on which the track was to be repaved. What resulted was an 18-month project that guarantees the long-term viability of the track's new surface.
