The PAS Cancels October 5 USAC/CRA Race

Perris Auto Speedway promoter Don Kazarian has announced that the October 5 Amsoil USAC/CRA Sprint Car race at Perris Auto Speedway on the opening weekend of the Southern California Fair has been canceled.

“The fair has decided to go with Monster Trucks that entire weekend,” Kazarian stated. “I totally understand their reasoning. Monster Trucks virtually draw a standing room only crowd at all of their shows. Being that it is opening weekend, having them will have a tremendous impact on the success of this year’s fair.”

Initially, Kazarian and fair officials were thinking of moving the sprint car race to October 12, on the second and final weekend of the fair.

“We were hoping to have it on October 12th,” Kazarian said. “However, Cody Williams is getting married that day. The Williams/Jory team has supported this series since day one and they are at every race. It would have been totally unfair and disrespectful to them to move the race to that date at such a late time. Also, other drivers will be at the wedding and some others have made different plans. We would have had a very short field of cars. That would have made for a poor show and painted the wrong picture for fair goers who are potential new race fans.”

An announcement on what will be scheduled October 12 is forthcoming. Check the facility's website at www.perrisautospeedway.com. For more information, call The PAS at 951/940-0134.
