NASA Reports Strong Field For Annual Championships

The National Auto Sport Association (NASA) is seeing strong entries for the eighth annual NASA Championships presented by Toyo Tires to run at Miller Motorsports Park, Sept. 5-8.

Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah, is located just 35 minutes east of downtown Salt Lake City, and NASA competitors will be using the track's Outer Course, which measures 3.048 miles long with 15 corners that will challenge the 400+ Championships competitors.

This year's field will see some of the strongest competition in the event's eight-year history.

Dean Martin in the No. 5 Hoosier Tire/Rehagan Racing Mustang will be going for his fifth (2012 American Iron (AI), 2011 AI, 2011 Super Touring 2, 2010 AI) NASA Championship trophy in his Mustang.

Manny Coats is a two-time NASA Championships winner in Honda Challenge 2 and 4. He will be going for his third Championship driving his No. 72 Psycho Bear Studios/Honda CRX in Honda Challenge 2.

Cindi Lux is new to the NASA Championships, but not to top-line sports car racing. Lux is bringing her No. 5 Black Rock Coffee/Lux Performance/SRT Viper to Miller Motorsports Park competing in STR1. Lux has an inside track, as she is a racing school instructor at Miller. She did her qualifying races in Portland Oregon, in the new NASA Northwest Region that was just created this year.

And, Emillio Cervantes is returning to the NASA Championships in his No. 49 949Racing.com/Miata, going for his sixth Championship title in PTC/TTC.
