Caterpillar has renewed its primary sponsorship of the Richard Childress Racing No. 31 car driven by Ryan Newman.

Newman, in the first year of a three-year contract with RCR, is eighth in the standings. Caterpillar, which is on the car for about two-thirds of the season with Quicken Loans on for the other third, has extended its deal at least through Newman’s contract.

Caterpillar has been with RCR for the last six years. Newman, who has 17 career wins in 456 career Cup starts, replaced Jeff Burton as driver of the car after last season.
