FIA Updates Entry Model for 2026 F4 World Cup in Macau
The FIA has announced a new team-based entry model for the 2026 FIA F4 World Cup, set to take place in November as part of the 73rd Macau Grand Prix.
Following an evaluation of the arrive-and-drive format used during the inaugural FIA F4 World Cup in 2025, the FIA will adopt the multi-team structure currently utilized by the FIA FR World Cup. Under the new system, leading teams from FIA-certified national Formula 4 championships will be selected based on competitive results and invited to nominate drivers for the event.
The 2026 edition will also feature an expanded 24-car grid, up from 20 entries last year. Competitors will race Pirelli-equipped Formula 4 cars on Macau's Guia Circuit.
The FIA and the Automobile General Association Macao-China (AAMC) will oversee team selection, bringing together top junior drivers from around the world for the prestigious event.
"The introduction of team-operated entries, in line with the FIA FR World Cup model, alongside an expanded grid, further strengthens the platform we offer to emerging drivers on the global stage," said FIA Single-Seater Commission President Emanuele Pirro.
The FIA F4 World Cup serves as a key development opportunity for young single-seater racers and a stepping stone toward higher levels of international competition.
