A month-long celebration culminates April 29 as Make-A-Wish commemorates the first-ever wish granted 33 years ago on that date, now known as World Wish Day.

To commemorate the milestone, officials with Gallagher Motorsports and Allegiant have announced that Spencer Gallagher will pilot a special No. 23 Make-A-Wish/Allegiant paint scheme and the nonprofit's logo in Sunday's (April 28) Kentuckiana Ford Dealers ARCA 200 presented by Crosley Radio at Salem Speedway.

Allegiant officials previously announced last August that they would be supporting Make-A-Wish as their primary charity. With Make-A-Wish granting a wish, on average, every 38 minutes in the US and approximately three out of four wishes involving travel, Allegiant has committed its resources to helping make travel wishes come true.

Since Allegiant began its involvement with Make-A-Wish, the company has provided support for 40 wish kids and their families to receive donated flights to their wish destinations, including the beaches of Hawaii and the Florida theme parks. In less than one year, Allegiant has provided nearly $150,000 in travel savings and event sponsorships in its local communities.

Gallagher Motorsports worked closely with Allegiant in early April to create a fitting tribute to World Wish Day by adorning its Chevrolet race car with the Make-A-Wish logo. Race fans in attendance will be able to spot the logos on the hood and deck-lid of the No. 23 Chevrolet as Gallagher competes in the 200-lap event.
