Gene Hackman, Hollywood Actor and Endurance Racer, 95

Gene Hackman—known for his Hollywood acting career starring in films like "Unforgiven" and "Bonnie and Clyde," but also an endurance racer—has passed away at the age of 95. Details on his passing are limited at press time, though both Hackman and his wife, Betsy Arakawa, 65, were found deceased in their New Mexico home earlier this week, according to published reports.
Hackman made his first start in his endurance racing career in February 1983 at Daytona behind the wheel of Dan Gurney's '83 Toyota Celica in the IMSA GTU category. The following year, Hackman joined the Preston & Son Enterprises team, piloting the Mazda RX-7 for the 12 Hours of Sebring race.
