Kentucky Speedway's medical, safety, security and track services personnel earned the Mission Award during the annual three-day NASCAR Summit in Concord, N.C., for excelling in improving the safety of all race event participants as well as exemplary event performance.
"Our Track Services Team led by Tony Morgan continues to set the standard for excellence nationally in all areas," Mark Simendinger, Kentucky Speedway general manager, said. "I am thrilled our team received this recognition from NASCAR."
The summit is one of the most vital and unique preseason conventions in motorsports. It brings together more than 800 attendees to address numerous key topics in their areas of expertise.
Kentucky Speedway's team will service two NASCAR weekends this season. The Sat., July 11 Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) Quaker State 400 presented by Advance Auto Parts will anchor a three-race NASCAR weekend that opens with the Thurs., July 9 Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) UNOH 225 and additionally features 300 miles of NASCAR XFINITY Series action Fri., July 10.
