The fight for the championship of the Lucas Oil Modified Series presented by LoanMart is scheduled for 10 rounds, beginning March 1 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, and ending November 22 at The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

The series will return to Tucson (Arizona) Speedway, a popular track with the racers but absent from the schedule the past three years, and revisit all the venues that were part of the incredibly competitive 2013 season.

There were an average of 30-plus qualifiers for each of 2013’s nine races, topped by a record 50 entries and 46 qualifiers at the Las Vegas finale, and those numbers should increase with several new drivers and teams arriving and some old familiar faces returning.

There will be more television time for all the racers, too, with the MAVTV Productions crew on hand for six races that will be shown throughout the year on the MAVTV American Real Network, CBS and the CBS Sports Network.

“This is a great schedule that allows us to grow without losing our grass-roots identity and do it without costing our racers a ton of money for travel expenses,” Lucas Oil Modified series promoter Greg Scheidecker said. “It’s a good mix of tracks, too. I know our drivers are going to enjoy themselves and give us another unbelievable season.”

Tucson will host the second race of the season, on March 22. Reigning champion Chris Gerchman was the winner the last time the series visited the 3/8–mile oval, on June 12, 2010.

Events at Lucas Oil I-10 Speedway in Blythe, California, and The Bullring follow Tucson, then trips to LoanMart Madera (California) Speedway June 28 and Rocky Mountain Raceways in West Valley City, Utah, July 26 and another visit to the fast ½-mile at the Irwindale Events Center August 16 fill the summer portion of the schedule.

After that it’s back to Blythe September 27 and Havasu 95 Speedway in Lake Havasu City October 18 for races that will set the stage for a Las Vegas finale that gets bigger and better each year.

The series once again will be supported by the dynamic sponsors who are part of the innovative Team Lucas marketing concept and discussions with additional sponsors are ongoing. Title sponsors for the 10 races will be announced soon. The length of the races, the purse structures and rules changes, if any, will be announced following a meeting of the series competitors before the awards banquet January 11, 2014, at the BlueWater Resort and Casino in Parker, Arizona.
