AETC—An Outstanding Industry Event

One of my favorite industry events outside of the Performance Racing Industry Trade Show is the Advanced Engineering Technology Conference (AETC) for race engine builders.

I first attended an AETC many years ago. I remember one of my first AETC gatherings, when it was held in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and I found myself sitting between Grumpy Jenkins and Ryan Falconer. That informed me pretty dramatically how valuable the AETC experience had become for people in the profession of building race engines.

Some of my favorite moments during AETC conferences took place during the breaks, or during lunch. I was able to meet with race engine builders who were new to me, and get their stories. I could be part of conversations that updated me in a very ‘real life’ way exactly where this segment of the racing business was in terms of successes, challenges and trends.

There’s really no other gathering of race engine builders like it. Nor is there such an outstanding curriculum for race engine builders in any other event. At PRI, it was a big day for us when the AETC team told us they would co-locate the event with the PRI Trade Show.

The AETC takes place December 9–11, in the Indiana Convention Center.

I highly recommend participating in the AETC this year...and every year. There are solutions to be found in the technical presentations and in the conversations with others in the same business.

Plus, as master of ceremonies, Harold Bettes always makes it fun.
