New This Year: High School Students Can Apply For A SEMA Scholarship

Applications are now open for the 2018 SEMA Memorial Scholarship Fund, created for students preparing for careers in the auto or auto-parts industries. The deadline is March 1.
  Previously only for full-time college students, high schoolers and part-time students can now apply.
NASCAR Awards Drive For Diversity Recipients

Pioneers of diversity were honored Thursday during the 11th annual NASCAR Drive for Diversity Awards. The Awards highlight exceptional accomplishments by drivers, motorsports professionals, industry facilities and organizations, and more.
  Among the awards, Cup Series driver Joey Logano received the National Series Driver Award for 2018.
IMSA Appoints Two To Race Director Roles

The International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) appointed veteran race officials Todd Snyder and John Maesky to new race director roles for IMSA-sanctioned single-make and challenge series.
  Both directors will be present during the two days of IMSA-sanctioned testing next week at Sebring.

Wilwood Engineering is said to have on-shelf stock of more than 300 different brake calipers, 200 rotor designs, 100 master cylinder designs and a wide assortment of brackets, fittings, valves and brake lines.
  Wilwood Engineering's high-performance disc brake systems are now available through Turn 14.
Irwindale Dragstrip (CA) To Be Resurfaced

Irwindale Speedway officials have announced that the Irwindale Dragstrip, a 1/8-mile track sanctioned by the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA), will replace its nearly 25-year-old asphalt surface.
  The track will also host activities like 'King of the 'Dale,' Call-out Grudge Matches and more.
Senior NHRA Competition Executive To Retire At End Of Season

After 34 years of service, Graham Light, the National Hot Rod Association's (NHRA) senior vice president of racing operations, announced that he would retire at the end of 2018.
  Graham Light will continue to serve on NHRA’s Board of Directors and as a consultant to the sport.
SEMA Announces Town Hall, 2018 HoF Nominations Open

The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) has invited industry professionals to its Town Hall Meeting hosted by K&N Engineering. SEMA has also announced its Hall of Fame nominations are now open for 2018.
  The SEMA Town Hall Meeting will take place in Riverside, CA, on February 27 from 6 – 9 p.m.
