LAGUNA BEACH, CA — Nearly 40,000 racing business people from all 50 states, and 65 countries, are converging on Orlando, Florida, this December to get absolutely current with the latest in racing technology courtesy of the 1,100 motorsports companies introducing their new lines in racing products, machining equipment, motorsport engineering solutions and more.
The 23rd Annual PERFORMANCE RACING INDUSTRY TRADE SHOW takes place December 9–11, 2010, in the North/South Building of the Orange County Convention Center, in Orlando. With literally thousands of new racing components on display, the event is widely viewed as the three biggest business days in auto racing. Approximately 38,000 attended last year.
"All the hot new parts and advanced racing technology that will be winning races n 2011 will get their debut at the PRI Trade Show," said Steve Lewis, producer of the event. "Tens of thousands of buyers representing racing retail stores, race engine builders, race car builders, and other racing businesses come to the PRI Trade Show every year to shop, make purchase decisions, then have these new racing products in stock for the start of the 2011 racing season.
"In addition, professional race teams and motorsport engineers take advantage of the fact that the entire racing industry is one place at one time to review all the advances in racing technology," continued Lewis. "If you make your living in auto racing, the PRI Trade Show is a 'must attend' event."
Lewis also noted that new negotiations resulted in significantly lower hotel room rates for 2010, with many of the regular Show hotels dropping their prices by as much as 20 percent. Hotel room start at $66 per night.
In addition to three full days of shopping the best new parts the racing industry has to offer for the 2011 season, the PRI Trade Show has many educational and social events to provide a full business package for the week of the Show.
AETC: Circle Track Engines — Hundreds of professional race engine builders attend the Advanced Engineering Technology Conference each year to catch up on the most advanced horsepower secrets, and share insights with other professional race engine builders. It's the oldest and most respected technical conference in racing. It will be held Monday through Wednesday, and there is a fee to attend. Engine builders can register at www.aetconline.com.
Congress of the International Council of Motorsport Sciences — A major new event for the 2010 PRI Trade Show is the Annual Congress of the International Council of Motorsport Sciences (ICMS), one of the premier race safety organizations in the world. The ICMS is an association of medical professionals, scientific, motorsports health personnel and other interested persons concerned with the improvement in performance and safety in racing. The organization is based in Indianapolis. The 2010 Annual Congress of the ICMS will take place Tuesday and Wednesday.
Advanced Stock Car Suspension Seminar — Freddie Query, the late model master from Mooresville, North Carolina, returns to the PRI Trade Show to share all he knows about setting up a stock car to win. It will be held Tuesday and Wednesday, December 7 and 8. Topics include front and rear suspension components, body mounting and modification tips, race tire and brake components, shock choice and tuning, coil binding, bump stops, detailed chassis setup procedures, race track chassis tuning and much more. EFI University — With the recent news that NASCAR is heading toward EFI systems, and with others sure to follow, this is a great opportunity for engine builders to learn more about electronic fuel injection technology. Grand Opening Breakfast, Featuring Dave Despain — A great racing industry tradition, thousands of racing entrepreneurs gather for this special, kick-off event. Just as he did last year before an overflow crowd, TV race commentator Dave Despain and his special guests will entertain with colorful racing stories and insightful commentary. Plus, there's a hot and tasty breakfast. This is going to be fun! The Breakfast starts at 8:00 a.m., Thursday, December 9. No charge for attendees with credentials.
PRI Happy Hour — After working the exhibit aisles on the first day of the PRI Trade Show, thousand of buyers and exhibitors will stop by the front lobby of the Convention Center to mix and mingle with their industry friends. PRI provides the cold refreshments and the appetizers. It's a great time for all, and there's no charge!
Bobby Rahal's Road Racing Drivers Symposium — Does it get any better than this? Bobby Rahal, who won the Indy 500 both as a driver and a team owner, returns with this Symposium offering insider tips for drivers in all forms of motorsports to stay on track for a successful career in racing. Additional speakers will touch on a variety of subjects, including key skills a driver needs to develop off the track. It will be held from 9:00 a.m. to noon, Saturday, December 11.
