Reigning NASCAR Nextel Cup Champion Tony Stewart Named PRI Trade Show Opening Day Breakfast Speaker

LAGUNA BEACH, CA (July 27, 2006) – Defending NASCAR Nextel Cup Champion Tony Stewart will trade in his helmet for a microphone and podium as he takes on the new assignment of Opening Day Breakfast Speaker at the 19th Annual Performance Racing Industry Trade Show. Stewart will speak to show attendees on Thursday morning, December 14th.

Stewart, driver of the number 20 Home Depot Chevrolet for Joe Gibbs Racing, has no trouble generating news and excitement, and known for his willingness to express his opinion, will speak to an expected audience of 4,000 show attendees prior to the official opening of this year’s show.

"We're very excited to have Tony come to the PRI Trade Show and share his colorful racing stories," stated Steve Lewis, producer of the Show. "He's one of the best drivers of his generation, and he definitely has his own style. This is going to be a very special morning."

The Opening Day Breakfast has become a strong tradition for the PRI Trade Show, the world’s largest racing trade show. The show will return for its second year to the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, with 1,400 exhibitors and more than 1,000,000 square feet of floor space. The dates for this year’s show will be Thursday, Friday and Saturday, December 14-16, 2006.

Stewart has won national championships in USAC and IRL, in addition to NASCAR. The 2006 NASCAR Nextel Cup Champion also has earned four USAC national championships, including one extraordinary year (1995) when he won the Midget, Sprint and Silver Crown national series titles. Stewart has never lost touch with his roots and continues to race Midgets when his schedule permits. He also is owner of the famed Eldora Speedway, in Rossburg, Ohio.

Plan to be part of a great racing industry tradition with this spectacular PRI Trade Show kick-off event, and join 4,000 industry professionals as they get the scoop direct from "Smoke" himself on racing and undoubtedly a variety of other topics. Doors to the northwest corner of the exhibit hall open at 7:00 a.m., and the program will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m.

Everything happens here first!

Reaching more than 42,000 show attendees, the three-day PRI Trade Show is timed so that racing retailers, engine and car builders, wholesaler/distributors, professional race teams and other industry participants can shop the latest new product introductions and have them in inventory for the next racing season. Attendees also will take in many other events scheduled throughout "Racing Industry Week."

The show is open to the racing trade only.
