Allmendinger, Andretti, Herta, Rice, McMurray Are Among Top Pro Drivers to Compete at Snap-On Stars Of Karting All Star Event

Indy 500 Champ Buddy Rice returns defend his win last year. Number of kart exhibits at PRI Trade Show continues to grow.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA – Jamie McMurray (NASCAR); A.J. Allmendinger (NASCAR); John Andretti (NASCAR); Marco Andretti (IndyCar); Bryan Herta (ALMS); Joey Hand (Grand-Am); Buddy Rice (IndyCar); Eddie Lawson (MotoGP); Wayne Taylor (Grand-Am); Steve Johnson (NHRA) are among the top professional drivers from a wide spectrum of motorsports to compete in this years Snap-On Stars of Karting All-Star Race.

It will be held Thursday night, December 6, as part of the Performance Racing Industry Trade Show, being held in Orlando. The race starts at 7 p.m. on a dedicated road course in the parking lot adjacent to the North/South Building of the Orange County Convention Center. The PRI Trade Show is the world’s largest racing trade show.

Admission is free to the event. The evening's competition will be filmed for two separate television broadcasts on SPEED Channel’s Lucas Oil on the Edge program.

"This is going to be fun! The Stars of Karting have gathered together a very impressive group of professional drivers," stated Steve Lewis, producer of the PRI Trade Show. "When you add in the race for the top competitors in the Stars of Karting series, this is going to be a very special night of great racing."

The race is part of an expanded effort to raise the profile of the exploding karting segment of the racing industry at the world's largest racing trade show. The number of karting companies exhibiting in last year's PRI Trade Show more than tripled. Exhibiting kart companies includes Tony Kart, Top Kart, SSC East-CRG, Birel, BTK-Arrow, First Kart North America, Douglas Wheel, Briggs & Stratton, Dill Fabrication, and many more.

The PRI Trade Show, scheduled for Dec. 6-8, 2007, at the Orange County Convention Center, continues to grow each year, and in addition to its regular focus of all serving as many facets of motorsports as possible, has turned its attention to the burgeoning karting market as another avenue to serve buyers and exhibitors. The Performance Racing Industry Trade Show has been recognized as one of the top 50 trade shows in North America, according to Tradeshow Week magazine.

With more than 45,000 racing industry entrepreneurs in attendance from 45 countries, the three-day PRI Trade Show is timed so that racing retailers, engine and car builders, wholesaler/distributors, professional race teams and other industry participants can shop the latest new product introductions and have them in inventory for the next racing season.

Snap-on Stars of Karting Presented by the Indy Racing League represents the pinnacle series in the sport of karting and often times the first step to a career in motorsports.
