Don Schumacher Racing invites motorsports professionals and bowling enthusiasts to show off their straight-line skills during the team’s annual Bowling for Riley event ahead of the 2016 Performance Racing Industry Trade Show.
The special event, which benefits Indiana’s Riley Hospital for Children, is scheduled from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 7, at Western Bowl, 6441 West Washington Street in Indianapolis, just 15 minutes west of the Indiana Convention Center.
Each year several of the world's top professional racers join with the Indianapolis bowling community and race fans for an evening of laughs and friendly competition. Participating drivers have included many from DSR—Tony Schumacher, Antron Brown, Shawn Langdon, Leah Pritchett, Ron Capps, Matt Hagan, Jack Beckman and Tommy Johnson, Jr.—as well as NHRA stars like JR Todd, Eddie Krawiec, Andrew Hines and Cruz Pedregon.
Teams are still being formed for this year’s edition, but the cast will include multiple all-stars and potentially drivers from IndyCar, USAC and more. Of course, the real stars are the participating Riley Kids.
DSR has raised close to $400,000 for Riley Hospital for Children between the team’s annual Open House and Bowling for Riley. DSR and sponsor Terry Chandler have put Tommy Johnson, Jr. in a branded Riley Hospital Funny Car at the US Nationals each year.
Entry fees are $40 per person or $150 for a team of four, and fans can watch for $10. For $25, spectators will be given access to a VIP lounge to meet participating drivers. Lane sponsorships are $300, and a title sponsorship is available, too.
