It’s events like the PRI CKI All-Star karting Classic that make the PRI Trade Show more than just a trade show. And it’s these powerful special events that keep racing industry buyers coming back to Orlando year after year, in addition to the vast array of all the hottest new racing components!

Karting IllustrationLast year, with the grandstands packed and people standing two rows deep around the track, the 4th Annual PRI CKI All-Star Karting Classic was a smash hit with the PRI crowd. In the parking lot adjacent from the OCCC, the stars from all disciplines of racing, including NASCAR, NHRA, Grand-Am, IRL, ALMS and more, returned to their karting roots to compete against each other for fun and bragging rights on a six-turn purpose-built track.

"I love it," former Champ car driver Jan Heylen said about the track setup. "They kept the same layout as last year and I think everybody likes it so it's good. It's a little hard to overtake because it's a small track but other than that I think it's perfect, and everybody seems to enjoy it."

Although Heylen (CRG) began the race in the third position behind NASCAR star Scott Speed (Tony Kart) and open wheel ace Jay Howard (Maranello), in the end he took home the first place prize for the All-Star Division, while Speed and F1 star Vitantonio Liuzzi (CRG) finished in second and third, respectively.

Other professional race car drivers who participated in the All-Star Division were Buddy Rice, AJ Allmendinger, Ryan Hunter-Reay, Jamie McMurray, Ed Carpenter, Bryan Herta, Colin Braun, Townsend Bell, Alex Tagliani and more.

In the Karters Division, Gary Carlton (CRG) took the top spot. Chris Wehrheim (Top Kart) finished second and Kyle Wiegand (Top Kart) took was third. All three of them along with the next six finishers got to compete in the All-Star Division with the professionals.
