FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MOPAR-PRI Sprint & Midget Classic presented by DHL gets strong response from initial mailing of entrants forms

Open wheel stars Bobby East, Dave Darland, Dave Steele, Kody Swanson are among the first to sign up!

LAGUNA BEACH, CA - Bobby East, Dave Darland, Dave Steele and Kody Swanson are among the most famous names in open wheel racing to respond to last week's mailing of more than 700 entrants forms for the 3rd Annual MOPAR-PRI Sprint & Midget Classic Presented By DHL.

"With an expanded total potential purse of $135,000 and the chance to compete before the racing industry, race teams responded strongly to our first call for entries," said Nicole Aguilar, who heads race team relations for the event. "This event has a good reputation for being well organized, and making everything as convenient as possible for the race teams to compete. Racers appreciate that."

The MOPAR-PRI Sprint & Midget Classic Presented By DHL will be held Friday night, December 7, at Orlando Speedworld. It is held in conjunction with the 20th Annual Performance Racing Industry (PRI) Trade Show.

Roughly 8,000 packed the grandstands last year of the 3/8ths-mile high-banked, asphalt oval. Most were members of the racing industry who took complimentary shuttle buses from the PRI Trade Show to the race. The MOPAR PRI Sprint & Midget Classic was televised nationally last year on ESPN2. Over 135 race teams competed last year in all four classes of cars.

The call to enter has gone to race teams for all four classes of race cars - Raceceiver Legends, Focus Midgets, Sprint Cars and Midgets.

With increased sponsor support, the total prize money has now reached $135,000, including the $50,000 Crane Cams bonus. The regular payouts for the Sprint Car and Midget Main events have been increased by a total of $10,000 this year, and should one driver win both feature races, it will prove to be a highly lucrative night.

The winner of the Sprint Car main event will earn $10,000, in addition to potential fast qualifier, lap prize and other awards. The winner of the Midget main event will earn $8,000, in addition to other prize monies available.

If a driver wins both of the nights 40-lap feature races, he will collect the giant Crane Cams $50,000 bonus prize. There is an added challenge in that the driver must start last in the second feature race - Midgets - and pass the entire field to collect the big bucks.

The PRI Trade Show is the world's largest hardcore racing trade show, and one of the top 50 trade shows in North America.

Gates open at 3:00 p.m. and the first race begins at 7:00 p.m. For more information, please call 800.515.8445, or visit www.sprintandmidgetclassic.com. Entry and ticket information will follow shortly.
