Purse grows to $135,000, including $50,000 Crane Cams bonus to driver who can win both of the night's Sprint and Midget feature races.
LAGUNA BEACH, CA - Anticipating a full paddock, entry forms have been sent out earlier this year for the 3rd Annual MOPAR-PRI Sprint & Midget Classic Presented By DHL, to be held Friday night, Dec. 7, 2007, at Orlando Speedworld. The call to enter has gone to all key open wheel racing drivers and race teams, with the expectation that the fields will be complete for the evening's multiple races - Raceceiver Legends, Focus Midgets, Sprint Cars and Midgets.
Over 700 entrants forms have been mailed.
With increased sponsor support, the total prize money has now reached $135,000, including the $50,000 Crane Cams bonus. The regular payouts for the Sprint Car and Midget Main events have been increased by a total of $10,000 this year, and should one driver win both feature races, it will prove to be a highly lucrative night. Through the participation of an increasing number of associate sponsors, total purse enhancement bonuses have grown.
The winner of the Sprint Car main event will earn $10,000, in addition to potential fast qualifier, lap prize and other awards. The winner of the Midget main event will earn $8,000.
The MOPAR-PRI Sprint & Midget Classic Presented By DHL is held in conjunction with the 20th Annual Performance Racing Industry (PRI) Trade Show, and attendance for the race - now in its third year - is expected to be even larger, with much of the racing industry on hand. The race was televised nationally last year on ESPN2.
The PRI Trade Show is the world's largest hardcore racing trade show, and one of the top 50 trade shows in North America.
Complimentary shuttle service from the Orange County Convention Center, where the PRI Trade Show is held, will again be available.
