Two US tracks have recently announced increases to their race event purses.

Summit Motorsports Park (Norwalk, OH) officials recently announced the Shakedown at the Summit’s Wiseco X275 purse has been increased.

Originally set at $10,800, the purse was recently adjusted to $15,800, with $7000 going to first place, $2500 to the runner-up, $1000 for semifinalists, $525 to quarter-finalists and $275 to eighth place.

This increase brings the total Shakedown at the Summit (Sept. 14–17) purse to a whopping $155,500, including $66,600 for ProLine Pro Mod.

In related news, the Board of Directors of the Ashland-Bayfield County Racing Association has approved a significant increase to the overall purse for the 42nd annual Red Clay Classic, to be held at the ABC Raceway (Ashland, WI) on Friday and Saturday, September 29–30.

The increase, set at approximately $4000, will boost the total estimated payout for the popular event to over $90,000.

Upwards of 200 WISSOTA-sanctioned Late Models, Modifieds, Super Stocks and Midwest Modifieds from up to five states and midwestern Canada are expected to compete at the northern Wisconsin 3/8th-mile oval.

The 50-lap Late Model feature will now pay $5000 to win, while first place in the 35-lap Modified A-main is worth $3500. The 30-lap Super Stock feature winner will receive a $2500 payout, and first place after 25 laps in the Midwest Mods main event is worth $1200.
