A new series for electric rallycross cars, called E/RACING, is set to get underway in North America. The Speedleague-owned series will utilize electric rallycross machinery built by Austrian firm STARD and races will start in Las Vegas in October.

The National Sprint Car Hall of Fame announced the names of those inducted into the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame on Saturday, June 3, during the twenty-eighth annual ceremonies. Included are three drivers: Dave Darland, Tony Elliott and Terry McCarl.

Mercedes has placed executive technical director Paddy Lowe on gardening leave ahead of him leaving the Formula 1 title-winning team. The team did not name a replacement for Lowe, and its technical structure will continue in its current form.

The first indoor event in the history of USAC’s IMRA and Midwest Thunder Midget divisions will be held at the Southern Illinois Center in DuQuoin, Ill., on Feb. 18, 2017. This event is the first of its kind at the SIC featuring five classes of cars on one racetrack in one day.

Toyota Racing unveiled the new Camry for this season's Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series alongside its road-going counterpart at the North American International Auto Show. Chevrolet will cease production of the Chevrolet SS at the end of the 2017 model run.
