The Hall memorializes significant contributors to the sport’s development and history, including designers, engineers, mechanics, drivers, racetrack owners, promoters, publicists and members of the motorsports media.
The winner of the newly established “Tom Hoover Sportsman Challenge” will be awarded a $4,260 purse, as well as a special commemorative Mopar trophy and an engraved plaque.
The manufacturer will run commercials on CBS Sports Network, NBC Sports Network and MAVTV American Real Network during the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series and Best In the Desert Racing.
A specific licensing agreement will allow selected competitors in United SportsCar Racing to have entries in the 24 Hours of Le Mans; the agreement also allows the use of the name ‘Petit Le Mans’ for the Road Atlanta event.
The series, which features the 570 hp, V10, permanent four-wheel drive Lamborghini Gallardo Super Trofeo, was first debuted in Europe in 2009, with a second, Asian series launching in 2012.
