Route 44 Speedway, formerly known as the Union County Speedway, is expected to open with dirt-track races in late April with a new track manager, Shawn Crouch. Closed for a year and a half, the speedway is still under work to restore it to its full potential.

A fire destroyed a storage facility in Missouri owned by Jerry Bickel Race Cars last weekend. The damages totaled an estimated $1 million in destroyed supplies, including an RV, trailer and several customer’s vehicles that were in storage waiting to be worked on.

Cayuga Speedway has been renamed Jukasa Motor Speedway. Racing will return to the 5/8th-mile paved oval for the first time this August since the track closed its doors in 2009. Two APC United Late Model events will take place August 26-27.

Muncie Dragway is the latest track to sign a sanctioning agreement with the International Hot Rod Association. The move back to IHRA sanctioning for the first time since 2006 is a natural progression in promoting Sportsman racing, according to track officials.
