Five drivers filed a $16.5-million lawsuit against World Racing Group and subsidiary UMP DIRTcar Racing, Eldora Speedway and track owner Tony Stewart last week. Officials say lawsuit has no merit, however.

An agreement was finalized for Larry Collins to fill the position of General Manger at Kern County Raceway. Collins, a managing partner of the SPEARS Southwest Tour Series and former General Manager of Mesa Marin Raceway, replaces Lee Baumgarten.

Italian Grand Prix chiefs expect to sign a new three-year contract with Bernie Ecclestone this weekend to keep the race at Monza, ending fears the race could drop off the calendar. Italian motorsport head said a 68 million Euro agreement has been provisionally agreed upon.
