Coinciding with the PRI Show's big return to Indy this year, several brand-new events have been planned for Race Industry Week 2013. Among them is Education Day, which takes place Wednesday, December 11—the day before the PRI Trade Show floor opens—at the Indiana Convention Center.

Patterned after the already successful Hot Rod Industry Alliance (HRIA) Education Day, 15 Motorsports Parts Manufacturers Council (MPMC) member companies will present one-hour product training presentations to PRI Trade Show attendees.

Three seminars will each run concurrently over five, one-hour time slots beginning at 9:00 am.

One of my favorite industry events outside of the Performance Racing Industry Trade Show is the Advanced Engineering Technology Conference (AETC) for race engine builders.

I first attended an AETC many years ago. I remember one of my first AETC gatherings, when it was held in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and I found myself sitting between Grumpy Jenkins and Ryan Falconer. That informed me pretty dramatically how valuable the AETC experience had become for people in the profession of building race engines.

Some of my favorite moments during AETC conferences took place during the breaks, or during lunch. I was able to meet with race engine builders who were new to me, and get their stories. I could be part of conversations...

A new expert presenter has been announced for PRI's special digital marketing conference, Winning the eRace, which takes place at the Indiana Convention Center on the afternoon before exhibits open for the 26th Annual PRI Trade Show.
