If you were to come to PRI one day and pry the lid off the top of the building and just peer in, you would identify a lot of the activity here as “selling.” This is a critical part of the equation here at PRI, and one of the key ways we work to keep in close touch with this ever-changing industry. For us, the sales process is a highly effective communication tool. The sharing of ideas, news, perspectives and, occasionally, industry gossip goes both ways. PRI ‘hears’ a lot through its sales team. A big part of selling is answering the question, “What do our customers want?” Believe me, they tell us, we listen and get to work on our products to make sure they align directly each year with the answer to this question.

In my career at PRI, it has never ceased to amaze me how the sport of auto racing is intertwined throughout American lives. In my own life, some very fun moments have occurred far away from a race track. It might have been at a back-to-school night, sitting in the grandstands for a Little League game or at a wedding reception. I am talking to a stranger or new acquaintance when the subject of what I do for a living comes up.  Next, I find the person I’m talking to runs a Winston West stock car (some time ago), or competes in Time Attack or spent years drag racing. Suddenly, we are speaking the same language. There’s a real enthusiasm in the conversation. And pretty soon, some fun stories are shared, and mutual acquaintances...

Daniel Alvarez, a 21-year-old Late Model driver with Hammer Time Racing out of Chappells, South Carolina, traveled to Indianapolis, Indiana, in mid-December to attend the 2013 PRI Trade Show. Following is his account of what took place shortly after he arrived at the Indiana Convention Center. 

The 2013 PRI Show was the 3rd straight show I have attended. On the first day of the show, my father and I stumbled upon the RAD “Race Against Drugs” Racing Team booth, and spoke with them about their charity.
